Process

From iron to installation

Heat & material
Steel plate brought to temperature. The process begins with raw material and extreme heat, before geometry, before form.
Cut & specify
Every Øform begins with a brief. Plasma-cut to precise tolerances, the geometry that defines each piece is established here.
Refine by hand
After the cut, the edge is worked by hand. This is where machine precision gives way to the maker.
Press & form
Industrial hydraulic presses shape each piece under thousands of pounds of force. The sculptural geometry is born in this moment.
The form emerges
A Basin Series piece mid-press. The form that will hold water, hold presence, hold a place in a room takes shape here.
Hand finishing
The interior surface is worked by hand before any coating is applied. Evidence of the maker is built into every piece.
Surface prep
Before the first coat goes on, the surface is blasted clean. What follows depends entirely on what's underneath.
The palette
Powder pigment in its raw state. 22,578 possible combinations, every one mixed and applied to specification.
Your specification
No standard colorways. Every exterior and interior finish is chosen by your design team and confirmed before production begins.
The finished object
Out of the kiln and into the world. Each piece leaves the studio with close attention to detail.

"Form is a language. It communicates without words. It shapes how we move, how we feel, how we inhabit space."

Jeff Overlie — Founder, Øform
About
"A company built not on trends or market cycles, but on a belief."

Jeff Overlie is a sculptor whose work spans public commissions, gallery exhibitions across New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Taipei, and precision manufacturing. Øform is a continuation of that practice: a rare fusion of artistic intuition, scientific rigor, and technical precision brought to a sector dominated by mass-produced uniformity.

Designed and fabricated in Southern California at deliberate scale, two to three pieces per week. Each one carries evidence of the hand: the human-scale nuances that separate a made object from a manufactured one.
